Schaeffler AG: 2028 Goals and Strategic Initiatives
On September 16, during its Capital Markets Day, Schaeffler AG unveiled new medium-term targets for 2028. The company aims to focus on operational implementation, boasting an order backlog of EUR 74 billion in e-mobility and powertrain & chassis. A key aspect is the planned integration of Vitesco, expected to yield annual synergies of EUR 815 million from 2029.
The targets include an adjusted EBIT margin of 6-8% by 2028, improved from 3.5% in 2024. This strategy enhances capital discipline, aiming for both organic growth and margin expansion. The market reacted positively to these goals, as reflected in Schaeffler's share price performance.
Management must ensure transparent and consistent progress in meeting these targets. Additionally, structural conditions like current free float and trading volumes are pivotal. Engagement from the majority shareholder could further bolster stock attractiveness. Quirin Privatbank, acknowledging these factors, maintains a "Buy" rating with a target price of EUR 7.50.
