Schaeffler announces new automobile manufacturing plant in the United States
Motion technology company Schaeffler plans to open a manufacturing facility in Ohio, USA, marking an investment exceeding USD 230 million. This facility, dedicated to the production of automotive electric mobility solutions, will see the light of day in Dover, with the creation of 650 jobs by 2032.
The factory, which will begin construction in mid-2024 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025, will include approximately 130,000 square feet for advanced manufacturing. Products produced will include electric axles for light and medium-duty vehicles, marking Schaeffler's commitment to the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
The location of the new facility in Dover was chosen for its proximity to Schaeffler customers, strategic suppliers and transportation infrastructure. The site also aims to strengthen Schaeffler's position as a technology leader in the Americas region, while aligning with the company's 2040 sustainability and climate neutrality goals.
In addition to its upcoming facility in Dover, Schaeffler continues to solidify its commitment to the state of Ohio, benefiting from a long-standing partner in developing its electric mobility solutions and achieving its environmental goals.
