Schaeffler AG has announced new structural measures affecting its European locations, focusing on their Bearings & Industrial Solutions division. Key changes include the cessation of operations in Berndorf, Austria, with production shifting to more cost-effective sites in Europe, China, and Asia. This is in response to market volatility and competitive pressures.

In addition, the Brasov site in Romania will see a consolidation of production activities, while Kysuce, Slovakia, will realign personnel and increase production capacity, emphasizing e-mobility components. The adjustments aim to optimize Schaeffler's competitive positioning amid industry transformations.

The UK site in Sheffield will cease producing clutch systems due to declining demand, with operations relocating to Hungary and India, aligning with the market's shift towards electrification.
