Séché Environnement and Waga Energy inaugurate a biomethane unit in Pas-de-Calais
Séché Environnement and Waga Energy announce the launch of a biomethane production unit in Sainte-Marie-Kerque, Pas-de-Calais. Using WAGABOX® technology, the initiative aims to transform gas from waste into biomethane. This renewable gas, injected directly into the local network, will be able to serve around 5,500 homes.
The new installation has a treatment capacity of 800 m3/h, with a potential annual production of 35 GWh. This should reduce the use of fossil natural gas and reduce CO2 emissions by 5,800 tonnes per year. Before this implementation, the site's gas was converted into electricity, but the WAGABOX® now allows more efficient recovery into green energy.
The collaboration between Séché Environnement and Waga Energy underlines the commitment of both companies to the ecological transition and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
