Séché Environnement Wins Tender for Las Salinas Cleanup in Chile
Séché Environnement has been selected to clean up a 7-hectare area in Viña del Mar, Chile, following an international tender. The project, led by Las Salinas, a subsidiary of Empresas Copec, underscores Séché's notable expertise in environmental services.
The initiative involves the final remediation stage of land polluted with hydrocarbons, located between 5 and 8 meters deep. This pollution is a remnant of the area's industrial past, notably from former oil activities. The project is expected to take about 3 years.
Séché will implement a comprehensive environmental management plan, including the excavation, analysis, and treatment of the contaminated soil. The project adheres to stringent environmental standards and aims to reuse the treated soil on the site as part of a circular economy approach.
Ricardo Labarca, Las Salinas Development Director, highlighted the significance of this project for the community. Maxime Séché, CEO of Séché Environnement, expressed honor at the selection and a commitment to applying their expertise to rejuvenate Las Salinas.
Séché Environnement has been active in Chile since 2017, further establishing its international presence in decontamination and remediation services.
