Semperit Faces Challenging Start to 2025, Eyes Recovery Ahead
Semperit AG Holding reported a challenging first quarter in 2025, with revenues declining to EUR 151.7 million, a drop of 13.8% compared to the previous year. The EBITDA also fell significantly to EUR 11.1 million, marking a 51.6% decrease. The company attributes the downturn to a persistently difficult market environment, compounded by the US tariff conflict, which led to project delays and cautious ordering.
Despite the slow start, Semperit expects recovery in the latter half of 2025, as order activities improved in March and April. The CEO, Manfred Stanek, remains cautiously optimistic, citing the infrastructure initiatives in Germany and recovery efforts in Ukraine as potential growth drivers.
The company maintains a robust financial position with an equity ratio of 46% and liquidity reserves of EUR 128 million. The outlook for operating EBITDA for the year remains between EUR 65 and EUR 85 million, despite digitalization project costs of EUR 5 million.
