Sendero Resources Corp. announces significant progress in its drilling campaign at the Peñas Negras project
Sendero Resources Corp. (TSX:SEND), based in Vancouver, BC, recently shared an exciting update on its maiden 4,500m drilling campaign at the Peñas Negras Project, located in the Vicuña District, La Rioja, Argentina. This operation resulted in the completion of three diamond drill holes, covering a total of 1,544 m across three priority targets: La Peña, Tamberías and La Ollita, awaiting assay results.
Visual results from the three full holes indicate Cu-Au porphyry mineralization in each target, with La Ollita showing the presence of a composite porphyry-epithermal system. This discovery positions La Ollita as the top priority for Sendero, according to Michael Wood, the company's executive chairman.
Drilling at La Peña revealed intense mineralization typical of porphyry, while Tamberías and La Ollita highlighted porphyry systems with evidence of multi-phase mineralization and advanced argillic lithocap cover. La Ollita has also benefited from recent geophysical studies, revealing promising magnetic and chargeability anomalies that reinforce its position as a prime drilling target.
Next steps for Sendero at La Ollita involve continued drilling with the PND004 well and a planned presentation at the Metals Investor Forum in Toronto. The company continues to explore the potential of the Peñas Negras project, enhanced by geological similarities with major deposits in the Vicuña district.
