Sensirion Launches New CO2 Gas Concentration Sensor for High-Volume Applications

Sensirion AG has introduced the STC31-C, a new CO2 gas concentration sensor designed for high-volume applications. This sensor targets the transportation and storage of perishable and pharmaceutical goods, as well as breath analyzers for monitoring CO2 in human breath. Available globally via distribution partners, the STC31-C offers a revolutionary measurement principle for thermal conductivity, providing high repeatability and long-term stability.

The compact STC31-C sensor delivers accurate, reliable readings with low power consumption and low cross-sensitivity to humidity and oxygen changes. It follows the successful STC31 model but features an additional low-cross-sensitivity mode advantageous for measuring human breath CO2 levels.

Utilizing Sensirion's patented CMOSens® technology, the STC31-C combines a sensor element and signal processing on a single chip, making it suitable for demanding OEM applications in mass production. An evaluation kit, the SEK-STC31-C, is also available for quick and easy sensor testing.
