Serve2Sustain: Transforming Tennis One Recycled Ball at a Time
Serve2Sustain, a non-profit founded by high school students Shreyas Gorre and Ari Fayne, is making strides towards a greener future in tennis. The organization, spanning 20 members across seven U.S. states, recycles worn-out tennis balls from clubs and, partnered with RecycleBalls and Laykold, transforms them into new tennis courts. In seven months, they have recycled over 110,000 tennis balls, raised over $12,000, and are rapidly expanding their national reach.
The idea for Serve2Sustain originated at the Wharton Global Youth Program for Entrepreneurship in 2023. Gorre and Fayne, both avid tennis players, sought a way to repurpose used tennis balls, leading to the creation of their non-profit. The organization now operates using a chapter model, with each chapter autonomously handling local tennis ball recycling efforts.
Interested individuals can start new chapters by contacting Serve2Sustain through their website or email. Donations to support their mission can be made via Stripe or Venmo. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, all contributions are tax-deductible. Follow Serve2Sustain on Instagram and LinkedIn for updates.
