SFC Energy AG and Polaris Partner for NATO Fuel-Cell Vehicles

SFC Energy AG, a provider of hybrid power solutions, has teamed up with Polaris Government and Defense to supply NATO with advanced fuel-cell powered vehicles. Announced at the Special Operations Forces Week in Tampa, the collaboration focuses on integrating SFC's EMILY 3000 fuel cell into Polaris' MRZR platform.
The EMILY 3000, a methanol-based fuel cell, enhances operational efficiency by powering essential equipment without running the engine. It weighs 12 kg and supports multiple battery types, offering near-silent and low-thermal operations ideal for covert missions.
This innovation is integral for prolonged military operations, reducing fuel use and maintenance, and is air transport-compliant per UN3473. Dr. Peter Podesser, SFC Energy's CEO, views it as a low-signature solution for modern forces.
