SGL Carbon Announces Leadership Changes and Board Expansion

SGL Carbon SE has appointed Andreas Klein as the new CEO, effective January 1, 2025. Klein, currently the Head of Graphite Solutions, will serve a three-year term. This decision follows CEO Dr. Torsten Derr's choice not to extend his contract, which ends in December 2024. The Supervisory Board has also extended CFO Thomas Dippold's contract by five years and appointed Dr. Stephan Bühler to the Board for two years.

Andreas Klein, with a background in business administration, has been effective in his current role since October 2023. He has held key positions in Bayer and Lanxess, bringing substantial industry experience. Meanwhile, CFO Thomas Dippold has played a vital role in SGL's financial restructuring since 2020. Dr. Stephan Bühler, with a decade-long tenure at SGL, will focus on legal, compliance, and strategic tasks.

The Board's expansion to three members signals a phase of continuity and stability for SGL Carbon's strategic goals.
