Shanghai Electric Advances in Romania with New PV Project
On October 1, 2025, Shanghai Electric marked a significant advancement in Romania's renewable energy sector by signing the Parau Phase II 342 MW photovoltaic project with Econergy. This collaborative initiative underscores Shanghai Electric's commitment to enhancing clean energy infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Parau Phase II project is the company's fourth photovoltaic initiative in Romania, contributing notably to the country's green energy transformation. In its first phase, the Parau 91.4 MW PV project successfully provided green electricity to 70,000 households. The second phase aims to expand on these achievements, further reducing carbon emissions.
This project is part of Econergy's broader strategy to grow its presence in the region. As of October 2025, Shanghai Electric's operations in Romania total approximately 550 MW in capacity, positioning Romania towards a sustainable energy future.
