Signal Gold Launches Exploration at Fowler Target to Extend Goldboro Mineralization
Signal Gold Inc., a firm listed on TSX and OTCQX under the symbols SGNL and SGNLF respectively, has initiated an exploration program at the Fowler target, a site prospectively rich in gold mineralization located east of the multi-million-ounce Goldboro Deposit. This area, part of the expansive Goldboro Gold District, spans approximately 27,200 hectares and is significantly positioned along the Goldboro Trend.
The initial assay of 335 soil samples from the Fowler area has shown promising results, with concentrations up to 144 ppb gold and notable historical assays. The comprehensive exploration strategy includes geological mapping, prospecting, surface geochemical sampling, and ground geophysics aimed at identifying potential drilling targets. Kevin Bullock, President and CEO of Signal Gold, expressed optimism about the prospect of discovering new gold deposits similar to those at Goldboro.
The geological underpinnings of the area consist of the Richardson sequence, hosting the existing Goldboro Deposit. Recent geological surveys and mapping point towards a similar potential structure at Fowler, which could be conducive to locating substantial gold deposits due to the mirrored anticlinal folding found there.
The exploratory focus is bolstered by historical data and recent soil sampling campaigns that aim to enhance the understanding and potential of the Fowler target. This exploration is a continuation of the company’s strategy to expand its resource base within the well-established Goldboro Gold District.
