Significant discovery of a new strategic metals project at Stendalen
Amaroq Minerals Ltd., an independent mineral development company based in Toronto, recently announced the discovery of a significant nickel and copper (Ni-Cu) deposit at its Stendalen project, located 60 km from Nalunaq, south of Greenland. The results of the first drilling reveal the presence of disseminated magmatic sulphides containing nickel, copper and cobalt over more than 140 meters, typical of high-grade nickel and copper deposits.
The 2023 drilling program intercepted low-grade sulphides, encouraging Amaroq to target the more concentrated massive sulphides expected within the deposit. The geophysical results provided evidence for the location of the deposit feeder zone, which will be the primary target of the drilling program in 2024. Critical characteristics of the results, such as sulphide grades, textures and mineralogy , are considered similar to significant nickel-copper deposits globally.
Amaroq plans to intensify exploration activities at Stendalen in 2024, deploying at least three drilling rigs and a dedicated ground geophysics team. This announcement is part of Amaroq's ongoing commitment to the exploration and development of strategic mineral resources in Greenland.
