Siltronic AG Appoints Klaus Buchwald as Chief Operating Officer

On March 12, 2024, Siltronic AG announced the expansion of its Executive Board by appointing Klaus Buchwald as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective August 1, 2024. At 55 years old, Buchwald brings extensive experience to this role, notably in operations, supply chain, engineering, and IT. This appointment expands the Executive Board to three members, with CEO Dr. Michael Heckmeier and CFO Claudia Schmitt maintaining their current roles.

The Supervisory Board, led by Dr. Tobias Ohler, expressed confidence in Buchwald’s talents, especially in production, logistics, and supply chain within the semiconductor industry. This strategic move aims to bolster Siltronic's ambitious growth plans. Buchwald’s addition is poised to enhance the company's pursuit of achieving sales exceeding EUR 2.2 billion and an EBITDA margin in the high 30s by 2028 through various strategic initiatives including expanding production capacities in Singapore and focusing on technological leadership.

Prior to joining Siltronic, Klaus Buchwald held significant roles at Infineon and Rohde & Schwarz, backed by over 21 years of experience in the field. His career started in a globally recognized management consultancy firm, setting a solid foundation for his expertise in the sector.
