Silver Bull Files Memorial in Claim Against Mexico
Vancouver-based Silver Bull Resources, Inc. has filed a memorial submission against Mexico. The damages claim, amounting to US$408 million, is under the USMCA and NAFTA agreements. The dispute stems from an alleged unlawful expropriation related to an illegal blockade of Silver Bull's Sierra Mojada project since September 2019.
On June 17, 2024, Silver Bull submitted the detailed claim to ICSID. A three-person arbitration panel is confirmed, with a hearing set for October 2025. The company has engaged Boies Schiller Flexner (UK) LLP for legal representation.
Silver Bull, supported by Bench Walk Advisors LLC with up to US$9.5 million, seeks compensation for investment losses due to Mexico's alleged violations of NAFTA.
The Sierra Mojada property remains Silver Bull's primary asset, boasting significant zinc and silver resources. The company continues to assert its right to develop the project.
