SK tes Achieves Over 6 Million Asset Repurposing Milestone in 2023

SK tes announced the repurposing of over 6 million assets in 2023, marking a significant milestone in its mission towards sustainable growth in IT asset disposition (ITAD) and recycling sectors. This achievement is part of the company’s broader 'Decade of Difference' initiative, aiming to recycle 1 billion kilograms of technology devices by 2030.

In response to the rising global e-waste, which is forecasted to reach 82 million tonnes by 2030, SK tes is expanding its operational capacity. New expansions include doubling the facilities in Recklinghausen, Germany, and Seattle, USA, and unveiling a new ITAD site in Virginia, USA, to support hyperscale data centers.

To further support the electric mobility boom, SK tes is ramping up operations at its battery recycling facility in the Netherlands and plans to establish another in Europe. These developments aim to enhance battery recycling capabilities and support regional electric vehicle production.

The company also signed an MOU with SMFL to invest in battery recycling in Japan and has initiated a joint venture to develop a new ITAD processing site in Hanoi, Vietnam, highlighting its commitment to global environmental sustainability.
