SKAN Increases Stake in Aseptic Technologies to 90 Percent
Allschwil, May 31, 2024 – SKAN Group AG, a leading provider of isolator systems for aseptic production in the pharmaceutical industry, has increased its stake in the Belgian company Aseptic Technologies. On May 30, 2024, SKAN acquired an additional 5% of Aseptic Technologies from co-owner Wallonie Entreprendre, raising its shareholding to 90%. The purchase price remains undisclosed. The co-owner will retain a 10% share and continue to support the business.
Aseptic Technologies is crucial for SKAN, offering automated, robot-assisted solutions for filling closed vials, which are essential in cell and gene therapy. Currently, seven drugs using AT-Closed Vial® are approved in 15 countries, and many more compounds are in research phases. The rise in new drug commercialization is expected to boost demand in the Services & Consumables sector.
Consequently, SKAN's interest in Plast4Life, another Belgian company, increases to 22.05%. Plast4Life will soon produce AT-Closed Vials® using plastic injection moulding. These developments signify SKAN's commitment to advancing its technological capabilities and market reach in the pharmaceutical industry.
