SKIDOS Launches IRIS to Foster a Love for Reading in Children

In a significant move to combat declining early reading and comprehension skills in the United States, SKIDOS has introduced a new educational module, SKIDOS IRIS, aimed at making learning to read a fun and engaging experience for young learners. With recent studies indicating that only 35% of fourth-grade students read at or above a proficient level, the edutainment platform's latest innovation hopes to make a difference by integrating the Science of Reading into its curriculum.

SKIDOS IRIS offers a captivating journey through interactive maps, games, and quizzes designed to improve phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Crafted by educators and aligned with the Science of Reading methodology, it includes over 125 interactive resources that teach children about letter sounds, blends, and segmentations. Ontario-certified teacher Jaya Sharma emphasized the importance of enjoyable learning experiences in developing strong literacy skills and a love for reading.

The module not only focuses on phonics but also introduces children to sight words and CVC words, aiming to enhance their reading fluency. Aditya Prakash, the founder CEO of SKIDOS, expressed the company's mission to empower children with the necessary tools for reading success. Parents can now access SKIDOS IRIS through the platform's games available on the App Store.
