Sky Gold Corp. Initiates Exploration at Consolidated Shebandowan Property
Sky Gold Corp. announced the commencement of its spring exploration program at the Consolidated Shebandowan Property in Northwestern Ontario, targeting significant orogenic gold and magmatic nickel sulphide deposits. The exploration focuses on the Mingold Au Soil Anomaly and a large Ni-Cu-Co-Cr-PGE geochemical anomaly, both promising high discovery potential.
The Mingold Au anomaly, a 2 km by 2 km area, previously explored by Mingold in 1990, exhibits high-grade gold concentrations in soil samples. This anomaly aligns with major crustal-scale structures and shows signs of a local bedrock source of gold. Similarly, the 5 km by 7 km Ni-Cu-Co-Cr-PGE anomaly, highlighted by strong geochemical signals for multiple metals, corresponds with significant magnetic highs and electromagnetic conductors from a recent VTEM survey, suggesting substantial nickel sulphide mineralization.
Initial exploration activities by ALS Global will involve detailed soil and till geochemistry over these anomalies to refine target areas for potential trenching and drilling. The exploration model, inspired by nearby successful discoveries and past productions like the Shebandowan Ni-Cu-Co-Cr-PGE mine, points to a promising structural and lithological context for mineral deposits at the Property.
