SLR Group GmbH Implements Local Heating System at St. Leon-Rot

SLR Group GmbH has inaugurated a local heating system at the St. Leon-Rot site in collaboration with KS Gleitlager GmbH. This system utilizes excess heat from SLR's spheroidal graphite cast iron production to generate process and heating energy at KS Gleitlager, effectively reducing CO2 emissions by 800 tons annually.

The underground water circulation system channels hot water from SLR's foundry to KS Gleitlager's facilities, reclaiming waste heat for various production processes and heating needs. The project epitomizes SLR Group's commitment to sustainability and CO2 footprint reduction goals, aiming for a 99% reduction in Scope 1&2 CO2 emissions by 2025 through a transition to renewable energy sources.
