SMA Solar Technology AG Reports Preliminary H1 2025 Figures
SMA Solar Technology AG has disclosed its preliminary financial results for the first half of 2025. The company reported sales of €684.9 million, a decline from €759.3 million in the same period of 2024. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) fell significantly to €9.1 million from €80.6 million previously.
The first half of 2025 saw an earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) loss of €19.0 million, contrasting sharply with a profit of €56.2 million in H1 2024. These lower figures reflect primarily impairment charges on inventories amounting to €46.8 million in the Home & Business Solutions division.
The second quarter's preliminary figures show an EBITDA loss of €15.5 million and an EBIT of €–30.4 million, both underperforming the market consensus. The company's EBITDA, excluding one-off effects, slightly improved to €31.3 million compared to €30.6 million in Q2 2024. The detailed half-year report is expected on August 7, 2025.
