SMX and Aegis Packaging Launch Sustainable Packaging Initiative

SMX (Security Matters) PLC has announced a strategic collaboration with Aegis Packaging to introduce a sustainable packaging initiative. This partnership combines SMX's molecular marking and blockchain technology with Aegis's O₂X™ coating to improve recyclability and traceability of plastic packaging.

The initiative aims to meet rising demands for sustainable packaging. Aegis’s O₂X™ allows recyclable packaging to achieve high barrier performance, replacing non-recyclable options. SMX's markers remain with the plastic throughout its lifecycle, allowing real-time verification of recycled content and reuse cycles.

By integrating these technologies, the collaboration addresses global sustainability challenges, offering brands a practical solution to enhance accountability and compliance with evolving environmental laws.
