SoftAtHome Empowers Orange's "Reconnexion Flash" for Seamless Fiber Backup
SoftAtHome, known for its broadband and Wi-Fi solutions, announced the launch of Orange's "Reconnexion Flash" service. This service leverages their Always'ON product to maintain connectivity in French homes during fiber outages. When fiber lines fail, the Livebox seamlessly connects to the user's smartphone hotspot, ensuring uninterrupted internet access for devices without requiring additional hardware.
Traditionally, fiber disruptions required backup hardware like 4G dongles, but Always'ON bypasses this by directly connecting to a smartphone hotspot. Activation is automatic for customers with the latest Livebox models, requiring no additional hardware setup.
The system's simplicity is a key feature. When an outage is detected, users scan a QR code to set up their smartphone's hotspot, enabling fast reconnections. Internet services continue uninterrupted, with fixed network services resuming once fiber is restored.
Orange aims to enhance customer experience with this service, reflecting their commitment to network resilience. SoftAtHome's CEO emphasizes the value-added nature of Always'ON, providing a robust solution across varying software environments.
