SonoAsh Completes U.S. Department of Energy Program for Clean Energy Manufacturing

SonoAsh Engineered Materiels Ltd has announced the successful completion of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) office of the Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) technical assistance program. The initiative aims to support small businesses in coal-impacted communities, focusing on local development and economic revitalization. These efforts come in response to closures of coal mines and plants, with the U.S. government’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) 40209 promoting clean energy manufacturing supply chains.

Brad MacKenzie, SonoAsh’s VP of Business Development, highlighted the program’s value in providing the company experience in project delivery, engineering design, and understanding of economic and community impacts. SonoAsh, known for its innovative process engineering, focuses on recycling coal ash for use as a low-carbon material in cement and extracting rare metals for technology and green economy applications.
