The study predicts a significant rise in global pistachio consumption, surpassing 976,000 tons, and emphasizes Spain's strategic advantage due to its climate, access to major European markets, and technological innovation. Spain's pistachio sector is well-equipped to leverage these factors to potentially lead production in Europe.

Looking ahead, by 2040, the global cultivated pistachio area is projected to reach 1.8 million hectares, with production exceeding 1.6 million tons, underscoring the crop's growing importance and profitability, further enhanced by technological advancements.
