Sparta Announces Significant Environmental Benefits Following Verification Process
Sparta Group (TSX.V:SAY) has completed its 2023 Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MVR) process at its E-waste processing facility, ERS International, revealing significant environmental benefits. The MVR process measures greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) reductions from e-waste recycling. ERS's efforts in 2023 achieved carbon credits equivalent to charging 600,883,859 smartphones, burning 10,031,102 pounds of coal, or using 894,106 gallons of diesel.
The MVR process enables ERS to convert recycling into carbon credits with monetary value, verified by a third party. Several companies participating in ERS's carbon credit program now have quick access to GHG credits. Currently, the national price of carbon stands at $80.00 per tonne, projected to rise to $170.00 by 2030.
ERS Director of Global Business Development, Joseph Cimorelli, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction. Sparta President, Tony Peticca, echoed this sentiment, expressing enthusiasm for working with companies focused on emission reduction and environmental protection.
