International Conference on Cardiac Arrhythmias Held at St. David's

The Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center hosted its eighth international symposium, EPLive 2026, on May 28-29 in Austin, Texas. The event had a record attendance of 1,600 participants, including 200 in person, from countries such as Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and Italy.

Attendees included physicians and health professionals focused on complex cardiac arrhythmias. The symposium's primary teaching tool was live cases with expert commentary broadcast from St. David's state-of-the-art Electrophysiology Center.

New technologies and techniques were demonstrated, such as a combined procedure for Atrial Fibrillation ablation and left atrial appendage occlusion, reducing the need for multiple treatments. Innovations in pulsed field ablation, a method using electrical pulses to destroy problematic cardiac cells, were also introduced.

The event featured presentations from leading TCAI physicians with global collaboration from centers in Colombia, Italy, and the United States, providing practical education and highlighting advancements in cardiovascular care.
