Star Copper Prepares for Phase 2 Drilling After Discovering Surface Mineralization
Star Copper Corp. announced that preparations are in progress for their Phase 2 drilling program scheduled for 2025. The first hole, designated as Hole G (S-056), revealed a large zone enriched with supergene copper, specifically malachite, during drill pad construction. Positioned south of the Star Fault zone, the drilling will proceed to test unexamined targets following Hole D's incomplete evaluations.
Geological plans for Hole G involve penetrating near-surface mineralization of copper in malachite and azurite form, progressing down to deeper chalcopyrite formations. The objective is to explore a hypogene copper and gold zone identified in earlier drillings. CEO Darryl Jones emphasized the aim to expand the copper footprint and link geological structures across the Star Main zone.
Additionally, access to Copper Creek, a potential resource extension zone, is now established. Mapping and sampling efforts are ongoing, aiming to inform further drilling stages at the Star Property.
