Sterling Metals Advances Inaugural Field Exploration Campaign at the Copper Road Project
Sterling Metals Corp. has announced the successful commencement of Phase 1 exploration at the Copper Road Project, located 80 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Copper Road is a 25,000ha site with potential for copper-molybdenum-silver-gold deposits. The project's strategic location benefits from substantial infrastructure.
The initial exploration campaign aims to define future drilling targets. Activities completed ahead of schedule include a 3,777-line kilometer airborne survey and physical property testing. The survey collected magnetic, radiometric, and LiDAR data to help model the geology for better targeting of mineralization.
Field crews have begun a soil sampling and mapping campaign, targeting a minimum of 5,000 samples. Preliminary tests have shown promising correlations with historical data. Advanced modeling of historical geophysical data is also underway to enhance targeting accuracy. This work is expected to be completed by July.
Jeremy Niemi, SVP Exploration and Evaluation, emphasized the geological prospects at Copper Road. The integration of historical data with modern techniques is expected to advance the understanding of the site's porphyry and breccia systems. Sterling Metals anticipates launching a drilling program soon.
