Successful Completion of Foundation Installation at Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm
Skyborn Renewables GmbH has announced the successful installation of all 80 foundations, including monopiles and transition pieces, at the 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwan. This milestone marks the beginning of the final installation phase.
With 80 foundations and 68 wind turbine generators installed, including 52 already generating electricity, the Yunlin project is advancing swiftly. Additionally, 56 inner array grids and all 12 export cables are now in place.
The Yunlin project is notable for its commitment to localization and environmental responsibility. Key partnerships with Taiwan's Formosa Heavy Industries and CTCI Machinery have facilitated the production of transition pieces in just five days. Furthermore, a four-year "Black-faced Spoonbill Tracking Program" has generated crucial data on the endangered species, earning Yunneng awards for environmental sustainability.
Located in the Taiwan Strait, the Yunlin OWF spans 82 km² and will serve over 600,000 households once completed by the end of 2024. The project operates under two 20-year power purchase agreements with Taiwan Power Co. and is backed by both local and international financial institutions.
