Swiss Re Announces Group CFO Succession as John Dacey Retires in 2025
Swiss Re has announced that Anders Malmström will succeed John Dacey as Group Chief Financial Officer on 1 April 2025. This follows Dacey’s decision to retire from his executive role at Swiss Re.
Jacques de Vaucleroy, Chairman of Swiss Re, stated that Malmström is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in finance and the insurance industry. Malmström will join Swiss Re from Athora Holdings, where he has been Group CFO since 2021. His previous roles include CFO positions at Equitable Holdings and AXA US, as well as senior leadership roles at Swiss Life Group.
De Vaucleroy also commended John Dacey for his 12 years of contributions, particularly in enhancing the efficiency of the Finance function and successfully transitioning Swiss Re to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Although Dacey will retire from his executive role, he will continue to represent Swiss Re as a non-executive director on the boards of FWD and CPIC.
