SwitchBot Unveils New Presence Sensor with mmWave Radar
SwitchBot has announced the launch of its innovative battery-powered Presence Sensor, featuring advanced 60Hz mmWave radar technology. This new device aims to enhance home automation by offering more precise presence detection, smarter lighting control, and energy efficiency improvements. The sensor integrates a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor and a light sensor, offering superior room detection capabilities.
The mmWave radar in the device recognizes subtle physiological movements, ensuring accurate occupancy detection even when individuals remain stationary. This overcomes the limitations faced by traditional PIR-only sensors. The built-in light sensor supports context-aware automation, preventing unnecessary activations.
SwitchBot's Presence Sensor offers a long battery life, lasting up to two years on two AAA batteries, and can be easily installed on various surfaces. Its compatibility with numerous smart home platforms enables flexible and reliable automation.
