TAC Industries Receives 2024 SourceAmerica Innovation Award
SPRINGFIELD, OH / ACCESSWIRE / May 14, 2024 - TAC Industries announced its receipt of the 2024 SourceAmerica Innovation Award. This recognition comes from their collaborative initiative with Fresh Abilities, aimed at creating employment paths for individuals with disabilities. The award was given at the SourceAmerica XForce 2024 National Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Fresh Abilities started as a quick-service restaurant by TAC in 2020, focusing on comprehensive training and employment for disabled individuals within the food service sector. The program includes over 100 hours of classroom instruction alongside hands-on training, concluding with a ServSafe Level 1 certification.
In 2021, TAC partnered with Clark State College to refine and expand the program’s outreach and improve its operational capabilities. This partnership has not only bolstered the program's effectiveness but also brought significant benefits to the college and surrounding community by providing a proficient food service option on campus.
Bridget Doane, Director of Business Development at TAC, highlighted the company's commitment to innovative solutions that empower disabled individuals. CEO Jim Zahora shared optimism about continuing the partnership with Clark State College, which aims to enhance community impact through expanded training and further collaborations with the food service industry.
