Taranis Resources Identifies Intrusive System at Thor
Taranis Resources Inc. has unveiled initial findings from its 2024 drilling program at the Thor site. This exploration revealed two significant intrusive bodies using a geological model linking epithermal and porphyry systems. Historically, no intrusive rocks at Thor were documented, but recent evaluations prioritized identifying them.
An airborne survey in May 2022 by Expert Geophysics suggested a concealed intrusive presence. Initial drilling in 2024 confirmed formations linked to these intrusives. Ongoing analyses, including geochemistry and mineralogical exams, aim to deepen understanding of these formations, particularly alkalic intrusive rocks linked to British Columbia's gold and copper deposits.
Two distinct igneous events were identified, each contributing differently to the Thor site. The oldest, Event I-1, likely sourced the precious and base metals in the epithermal deposit. A younger event, I-2, lacks metals but contributed to altering the epithermal deposit.
