Taranis Restarts Exploration Activities at Thor After Wildfire
Taranis Resources Inc. (TSXV:TRO)(OTCQB:TNREF) has announced the resumption of its 2024 exploration program at the Thor site in Southeast British Columbia. A large wildfire recently burned through 75% of the core part of the Thor epithermal deposit but has since subsided, allowing for limited exploration activities to recommence.
Drilling is expected to restart on Tuesday, following safety measures to secure the area. The primary concern remains falling trees. An excavator has been deployed to remove burnt trees and clear main access roads. Despite the wildfire's intensity, Taranis' core infrastructure, including the core library, exploration camp, and bridges, remains intact.
The wildfire, covering approximately 596 hectares, continues to be monitored by the B.C. wildfire service. Taranis acknowledges the efforts of the wildfire service in managing the situation and controlling hotspots along the main access road. An Evacuation Alert from July 23 highlights the ongoing threat in the Trout Lake area.
