TDG Gold Discovers New Copper-Gold Porphyry Target in North Quartz, Baker Complex
TDG Gold Corp. has announced the identification of a second copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry target at its North Quartz area within the ~53 sq.km Baker Complex in the Toodoggone District, B.C. The North Quartz target, located approximately 4 km west of the already identified Trident target, shows promising signs of a large porphyry system with historical shallow drill holes indicating appreciable base metal concentrations.
In 2023, TDG assayed historical drill cores from the Baker B-Vein, revealing up to 100m of > 1.0% copper equivalent from near the surface. This, combined with recent geophysical data, suggests the presence of a large intrusive body beneath North Quartz. The target area, accessible by road and situated near TDG's Baker camp mill and infrastructure, spans at least ~5.0 sq.km.
Steven Kramar, VP of Exploration at TDG, highlighted the systematic evaluation of their holdings in the Toodoggone, emphasizing the Baker Complex's potential to host significant copper-gold porphyries. The exploration work has identified two priority drill targets, with further evaluation still underway.
Historical exploration at North Quartz outlined soil anomalies with elevated concentrations of copper, molybdenum, lead, zinc, gold, and silver. TDG's efforts in airborne and ground-based surveys have further delineated the potential of this area, with lithic drainage sampling in 2023 showing highly anomalous concentrations of base and precious metals.
