Texas Steel Conversion, Inc. Announces New Internal Plastic Coating Facility
HOUSTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / May 31, 2024 / Texas Steel Conversion, Inc. (TSC), a leader in steel tubular processing and drill pipe manufacturing, has announced the installation of a new internal plastic coating (IPC) line at its Miller Road plant in Northeast Houston. This addition underscores TSC's commitment to innovation and excellence in customer service within the oil and gas industry.
The new IPC line, set to be operational in early 2025, aims to improve the performance and longevity of pipes used in demanding drilling, completion, and transportation environments. It will initially handle tubulars ranging from 2.375" to 12.750" in both Range 2 and Range 3.
Employing advanced technology to ensure a uniform and durable powder coating throughout the internal diameter of the pipe, the line allows TSC to have better control over the coating schedule and quality standards, reducing operational interruptions for customers. This process enables customers to choose a specialized IPC product that meets modern drilling fluid requirements, improving flow rate and productivity.
