The Inaugural 'Shanghai Summer' International Consumption Season Officially Launched

SHANGHAI, CHINA - On July 6, the inaugural "Shanghai Summer" International Consumption Season began, inviting global travelers for a unique summer experience at the Bund. Shanghai saw 2.035 million foreign visitors from January to June 2024, a significant increase compared to the previous year. With a 98% coverage rate of top international brands, Shanghai ranks second among global cities for international retailers.

The season, running until mid-October, will host over a hundred events, including concerts, music festivals, cultural performances, and sports events. Key highlights include the Civilization of Ancient Egypt Exhibition, the first Shanghai International Cruise and Light Festivals, and the ATP 1000 Shanghai Masters.

Eight global partners such as China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Eastern Airlines are offering services like short-term internet cards and discounted flight tickets. Initiatives from Bailian Group and Jinjiang International include gift cards and store discounts to enrich the visitor experience.

Shanghai has also launched a global recruitment for "Shanghai Summer Ambassadors," with participants set to share their unique experiences of the city's vibrant summer activities.
