The Mills Fabrica Marks Five Years of Environmental Innovation
The Mills Fabrica, based in Hong Kong SAR, has released its second Impact Report to celebrate five years of fostering techstyle and agrifood innovations. Partnering with over 100 global brands, the report highlights their approach of leveraging the nine planetary boundaries framework and IRIS+ framework for measuring environmental and social impacts.
Since 2018, The Mills Fabrica has invested strategically in over 20 startups and eight funds, targeting upstream innovations and employing a tailored impact management process. One significant success involves Mango Materials, which converts methane into biodegradable materials, displacing 1.4 tonnes of plastics.
The incubation program has supported over 15 startups, offering co-working spaces and network opportunities. Fabrica X, their retail concept, plays a vital role in educating consumers on sustainability issues, demonstrated by its successful Plastic Circularity campaign.
The Mills Fabrica's dedication is evident in organizing over 360 events, engaging more than 45,000 individuals globally, thereby fostering a collaborative ecosystem for sustainable development.
