The Next 150 Signs Multi-Year Deal with Microsoft for Biochar Carbon Credits

The Next 150 has announced a six-year partnership with Microsoft to provide 95,000 tons of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) credits, a major step in its journey to dominate the carbon removal industry. This move not only secures a significant commitment from a tech giant but also enables The Next 150 to scale up its biochar projects across Latin America.

Founded in late 2022 and quickly establishing its first biochar production facility in Mexico by 2023, The Next 150 is advancing its mission to revolutionize landscape regeneration and biodiversity through sustainable soil amendments. The initiative, highlighted by its integration into state-driven quarry rehabilitation and support for local farmers, underscores its potential for wide-reaching environmental and social benefits.

With Microsoft’s engagement aiming towards a carbon negative footprint by 2030, this collaboration represents a convergence of technology and environmental stewardship. The Next 150's biochar is poised for mid-2024 delivery on the Puro.Earth registry, with plans to expand operations further in Latin America by 2025.
