The winner of the Helvetia Bisso Art Prize Yann Stéphane on the Art Fair Basel 2024 List

Bisso Yann Stéphane, winner of the Helvetia Art Prize 2023, will present his works at the List Art Fair Basel 2024. Graduated with a master's degree from HEAD Geneva, the artist will exhibit his paintings with a unique pictorial language, merging personal memories, representations present and future desires.

Born in Cameroon, Bisso Yann Stéphane explores the historical memory of his dual identity through pictorial landscapes. His works address relevant socio-political issues, offering a fresh perspective on the genre of landscape painting.

His series “The clouds are wanderers” reflects this duality between memory and imagination. The paintings combine dreamlike views of seas of clouds, distant horizons, and varied natural scenes.

The Helvetia Art Prize, intended to encourage young artists, offers the winner 15,000 francs and the opportunity to exhibit solo at the Liste Art Fair Basel, an event actively supporting new generations of artists since 1996.
