Threshold Crossing: BlackRock Reduces Its Shares in Société Générale
By letter received on August 28, 2024, BlackRock, Inc. reported that it had crossed downwards the threshold of 5% of the voting rights of Société Générale. This transaction was carried out on behalf of clients and funds managed by BlackRock.
As of August 27, 2024, BlackRock held 43,917,031 Société Générale shares representing 5.41% of the capital and 4.89% of the voting rights. This decrease in the number of shares held results from the reduction of Société Générale shares held as collateral.
BlackRock clarified that the investment manager may exercise voting rights relating to the securities held at its discretion, unless otherwise requested by clients. Société Générale's capital consists of 812,035,548 shares, representing 898,113,559 voting rights.
