Thyssenkrupp Nucera Sees Strong Growth Amid Industry Challenges
Thyssenkrupp Nucera AG & Co. KGaA reported robust growth in the 2023/2024 fiscal year, despite challenging market conditions. The electrolysis specialist increased its order intake by 4% to EUR 636 million, driven by a 73% rise in new orders for green hydrogen technology. Sales of water electrolyzers surged by one-third to EUR 862 million, underscoring strong performance in the alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) segment.
The company started the new financial year with an order backlog exceeding EUR 1 billion. Strategic partnerships, like with Fraunhofer IKTS in SOEC technology, bolster its technology portfolio, establishing new growth avenues. Additionally, a significant agreement with Spanish firm Moeve marks a major project for green hydrogen in Andalusia.
Chlor-alkali electrolysis sustained stable performance, with sales slightly increasing to EUR 338 million. Despite heightened R&D and administrative costs, leading to a decline in EBIT to EUR -14 million, Thyssenkrupp Nucera's financial base remains solid, foreseeing stable sales in 2024/2025.
