Togo and Star Garments Group boost the textile sector
Sri Lanka-based global manufacturer Star Garments Group is opening its first factory outside its home country in Togo. This initiative is supported by the International Finance Corporation with an investment of $15 million.
Located in the Adétikopé Industrial Platform, near Lomé, this new facility aims to generate around 4,520 direct and indirect jobs by 2030. It focuses on the empowerment of women, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
The project meets LEED standards, highlighting Star’s commitment to sustainability. The group, the only conglomerate in the clothing industry certified carbon neutral, intends to strengthen its capacity for the international market.
