Torq Resources Begins Drilling at Santa Cecilia and Announces Board Change
Torq Resources Inc. has announced the start of drilling at its Santa Cecilia project in northern Chile. The project is located in the Maricunga belt, near significant gold-copper deposits. Drill targets include Pircas Norte and Gemelos Norte, where previous findings revealed promising mineralization. Notably, drill holes 24SC-DDH-005 and 24SC-DDH-003 showed considerable gold and copper concentrations, spurring the company to extend its exploration.
The drilling initiative includes five to seven holes, spanning about 4,000 meters, financed by a USD $6 million commitment from Gold Fields. Torq's CEO, Shawn Wallace, highlights the significance of the joint venture with Gold Fields, promising intensified exploration efforts to unlock potential resources in 2025.
Additionally, the company announced the retirement of Steve Cook, Director, from his role. CEO Shawn Wallace expressed gratitude for Cook's decade-long contributions.
