Tozero GmbH Crowned Champion at Hong Kong's EPiC 2024

Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation hosted the successful Elevator Pitch Competition (EPiC) 2024, where tozero GmbH emerged victorious. This circular economy startup from Germany now plans to lead Europe in lithium-ion battery recycling. Winning not only the competition but also US$90,000, 1,100,000 Asia Miles, and significant partnership and investor exposure, tozero GmbH stood out among 70 international startups in a fiercely competitive field.

The EPiC 2024 competition represents a milestone as it expanded its semi-finals to include cities across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. This strategy attracted a record number of contestants from 47 economies and further established Hong Kong as a prime hub for global technological innovation. The contest included three categories—FinTech, PropTech, and MobilityTech—with two other companies, Bizbaz Pte. Ltd. and Roboticplus.AI, winning in the respective categories of FinTech and PropTech.

Hong Kong's role as a launchpad for startups aiming for global markets is emphasized through this competition. The semi-finalists this year participated in a three-day "Market Discovery Programme," which included networking with key partners and exploring business opportunities across the Greater Bay Area. This provided all contestants with a unique platform to engage directly with potential investors and influential figures in the industry.
