Tuxera expands collaboration with Microsoft through new SMB technology agreement
Tuxera announces an expansion of its collaboration with Microsoft by signing a new partnership agreement around the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. This agreement will allow Tuxera to offer its customers a solution integrating both SMB technology and a Microsoft SMB patent license at a competitive price. The growing demand for the rapid transfer of unstructured files across various industries highlights the importance of compliant software solutions including critical business support and innovation, according to Antti Alila, VP Enterprise Business at Tuxera.
The SMB protocol, widely adopted thanks to the global reach of Windows, facilitates the transfer of files between operating systems and different types of devices, improving interoperability. Tuxera's offering, through this agreement, reduces barriers to licensing SMB technology and enriches the customer experience using Fusion File Share by Tuxera, notable for its speed and reliability in accessing file resources shared.
One-of-a-kind, Tuxera offers a high-availability, cloud-ready SMB solution for enterprise storage needs, as well as embedded devices. This agreement is a continuation of the collaboration between Tuxera and Microsoft, partner companies since 2009 and already involved in the development of the Fusion File Share by Tuxera product based on Microsoft's SMB technology.
