Paris, 8 August 2024 – Eutelsat Group has been chosen by United Group to consolidate its broadcasting activities on EUTELSAT 16A and HOTBIRD satellites. This move aims to maximize audience reach over its footprint in Greece, Bulgaria, and the ex-Yugoslavia region.

The agreement includes the renewal of a multi-year, multi-transponder deal, introducing new capacity over Bulgaria and additional capacity in Greece. This deal highlights the continued relevance of satellite technology in meeting the evolving needs of broadcast clients.

Eutelsat’s flagship video hotspots reach 70% of satellite households in Central and Eastern Europe. Combining EUTELSAT HOTBIRD and EUTELSAT 16A enables United Group’s platforms to access audiences in multiple countries, significantly enhancing their market reach.

Zeljko Batistić, VP Technology of United Group, emphasized the importance of this transition. Laurence Delpy, President of Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, added that this agreement reinforces the company's position as a premier satellite broadcasting operator.
