U.S. Polo Assn. Partners with ESPN to Broadcast National Intercollegiate Polo Championships
U.S. Polo Assn., in partnership with the United States Polo Association, successfully outfitted teams for the 2024 Division I National Intercollegiate Championship, featuring prestigious collegiate polo teams. The championship finals, held in Charlottesville, VA, showcased top schools, including the University of Virginia and Texas A&M University. The event, which will air on ESPNU, underscores US Polo Assn.'s commitment to fostering young talent in the sport.
In addition to the main event, the brand equipped 52 teams throughout the 2024 collegiate season and extended support through its Collegiate Partnership Program. This initiative, now in its sixth year, is aimed at promoting polo across a broad spectrum of U.S. colleges, emphasizing inclusivity among Ivy League schools and HBCUs. Notably, the partnership with ESPN will bring greater visibility to collegiate polo, connecting the sport to a larger audience nationally.
According to J. Michael Prince, CEO of USPA Global Licensing, the partnership with ESPN aligns with their strategy to nurture the sport’s growth and enhance its profile on a global scale. The broadcast is scheduled for April 21, 2024, offering a platform for exceptional student athletes to shine at the national level.
